SACU: Customs duty exemption on components for set top boxes

On 8 October 2010, the South African Revenue Service (SARS) issued Notice no. 871 exempting the import tariff on certain components used in the production of set top boxes.
 
The duty reduction was requested by Reutech Radar Systems (Pty) Ltd. to the International Trade Administration Commission (ITAC) of South Africa. The Commission in turn recommended a tariff exemption, as certain components are not manufactured in the SACU.
