SACU: Customs duty exemption on plug inserts and sockets

On 28 May 2010, the South African Revenue Service (SARS) issued Notice no. 441 exempting the import tariff on plug inserts and sockets.
 
The duty reduction was requested by Apex Power Cord Set Technologies to the International Trade Administration Commission of South Africa (ITAC). The ITAC in turn recommended a tariff exemption, as international type plug inserts and sockets are not produced in the SACU.
